This pair of black freshwater pearl earrings are made with recycled silver. Freshwater pearls are are cultivated from mussels rather than oysters. These irregular shaped pearls are cultivated from pearl farming. A tiny rectangular shaped disc is inserted into a mussel shell. The pearl then forms around the disc. Due to their unique cultivation this leads to the beautiful organic shape with a contemporary feel.
The freshwater black pearl is approximately 20mm and the sterling silver earring wire is a hook and bead style. The total drop of the earring is 30mm (3cm).
